Agile process
At Qantom, we strongly follow a process for our SQA activities. What we typically follow is an Agile process, but we can adopt any process that is in use by the client.
Highlights of our process:
-
Individual web site: For medium to long term assignments, Qantom will setup a separate
intranet site and allow access to the client. This site will have all the information required
about the project like test strategy, test cases, test execution reports. The clients will
be allowed exclusive access to this site using a secure channel.
-
Daily status reporting: Status report about the work progress is updated daily on the project
specific web page.
-
Testing artifacts are well documented: Whether it is the initial exploratory testing,
adhoc test execution or Test cases, Qantom's process ensures that every single piece of work
is documented.
-
Configuration management: Every work that is created by Qantom is stored in our
configuration management repository. On client request, we can enable access to this repository
or setup a mirror repository for the client to access files from the repository
-
Internal issue tracking: We set up an internal issue tracker to manage issues related to
test management. This tracker is in addition to the bug tracking system that the client uses for tracking
bugs about the application. In this internal tracker, we manage issues related to SQA activities like
test case updates, test cases for new features, test bed setup, etc.,
-
Communication: We use various tools to allow communication within the team members, in which we
encourage clients to participate. These tools include Wiki, discussion lists and forums. This
active participation increases the productivity and quality of deliverables.
-
Backup and redundancy: At Qantom we put a lot of weight behind BCP. We have put in various
mechanisms to ensure that data is not lost and disaster recovery is almost immediate. Details about the
BCP mechanisms are mentioned under the tab
BCP
- Knowledge management: At Qantom, we have implemented various tools like Wiki, EMS and discussion forums which helps in knowledge archival and dissimination. More details can be found in the section, Knowledge Management
